Situated in the heart of one of London’s most refined neighbourhoods, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair is the Group’s second address in the city and its most intimate urban property to date. The newly constructed hotel – the first new-build in Mayfair in over a decade – offers 50 elegantly designed guestrooms and suites, 77 private residences, two vibrant restaurants, a rooftop bar with panoramic views across Mayfair and beyond, and a beautiful spa with a 25m swimming pool, and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.
From the outset, the building was conceived with sustainability in mind. It features advanced energy-saving technologies, LED lighting throughout, and intelligent building management systems that monitor and optimise resource consumption. Guests are immersed in a thoughtful design narrative, with bespoke furnishings crafted by local British artisans and
a fan designed by the late Vivienne Westwood, marking the first piece of its kind to be produced entirely in the UK in over 70 years.
A standout feature of the property is its exceptional commitment to local sourcing. The UCSL audit confirmed that an impressive 93% of suppliers are based locally – an extraordinary benchmark in global luxury hospitality. From ingredients and amenities to design materials and logistics, the team prioritised nearby partnerships to strengthen local economies and reduce environmental impact.
Sustainability is woven into every facet of operations. Staff at all levels receive dedicated sustainability training, and environmental and social clauses are embedded into supplier agreements. Waste is measured, separated, and monitored across departments, and food waste is actively minimised. The hotel stands nearly 99% free of single-use plastic and is working closely with partners to eliminate the remaining 1% – an effort that echoes Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s broader sustainability commitments and long-standing dedication to environmental stewardship.
Mandarin Oriental Mayfair also takes an active role in supporting the local community. Team members regularly volunteer at Refettorio Felix, a London-based charity kitchen serving vulnerable individuals, and support Fair Shot, a social enterprise café that empowers young adults with learning disabilities. These initiatives reflect a brand culture centred on dignity, equity, and inclusion.
